Facilities
The Sevenhill Centre of Ignatian Spirituality is in the middle of the oldest winery on the Clare Valley in South Australia. Established in 1848, it is the birthplace of the Jesuits in Australia. It is a unique place for prayer and contemplation. Twenty-four rooms are available, some with ensuite and some with shared bathroom facilities. Other facilities include a large church and small chapel, two meeting rooms and three dining rooms where all meals are fully catered. We serve home grown fruit and vegetables.
Our centre is ideal for Silent Directed Retreats, planning days, formation programs, conferences and day workshops. The grounds, shrines, the Stations of the Cross, walking paths and the surrounding vineyards create an environment conducive to encountering God in a restful and peaceful rural setting. The Clare Valley Riesling trail passes through the four hundred acre property offering opportunities for walking and bike riding. The retreat Centre is not far from the Spring Gully Conservation Park which offers another space for quiet reflection and scenic views.
One third of the Jesuit winery’s production is Sacramental Wine and award winning table wines are offered with the evening meal in the Spirituality Centre dining room. Hospitality is our special care and our desire is to foster an atmosphere of consoling the spirit, healing the soul, and loving the world with the heart of God.
